In the Islamic philosophy there are the terms khusnul khotimah and su'ul
khotimah. Khusnul khotimah is a situation when a Muslim leaves the world in
faith in God as the only god, and believes Muhammad as the Messenger of Allah.
The word khusnul comes from the word hasan which means good, while the word
khotimah comes from khotama which means the end or end. So khusnul khotimah is
an end of good life, blessed by God, and promised to enter the heaven of God.
We always beg God to end our lives in such conditions.
There is su'ul khotimah as opposed to the above. When a person dies with
the belief of another god other than Allah, or dies with sin, then the person
is usually said to be dead in the state of su'ul khotimah.
The essence of my writing this time is not merely about the two conditions
above. I would like to invite readers to see that in this world there are
people whose life journey tends to lead to a bad end. Take a look at how these
people have brought a lot of horror to many people, causing the death of so
many people, spreading hatred and revenge everywhere, and then ending the last
moments of his success is precisely what is bad.
There is an Indonesian proverb that reads, the elephant died leaving ivory,
the tiger died leaving a spotted, dead man left the name. Khairil Anwar, a
deadly Indonesian poet, once said, "life is very meaningful, then
dead." All this means that our life is to be lived with good things and
bring benefits to many, so that when we None, the one we leave is a beautiful
memories.
The the Prophets, the Sufis and the saints always abandon the remarkable
memories of us even though they have not been so long. Notice how Muhammad's
name revolves in every prayer call in the valleys, in villages, in cities, all
over the world. Notice how our prayers become worthless to Him in every
tahiyyat we do. On a small island across Madura, there is a tomb of a Sufi who
came from all over the country even though he has been hundreds of years old.
The place is so isolated, far away, not much known people turns out to be no
obstacle. What a glorious be!
In his eight-year reign as the president of a superpower state, George Bush
left behind the bitter and painful memories. Many observers have linked this
name to the millions of people killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, with its
indiscriminate conditions in both countries, with the sufferings and nista that
many widows and orphans have to perceive in Muslim countries.
Time and history never stop. One time, history will surely record, how this
one ruler has gone through the days and years of his reign by spreading death
and destruction everywhere. History can never be forgotten, so much of the
hatred and heartbreak of the millions of people that arise because of the
policies he is taking.
In the letter Ali 'Imran verse 26 Allah asserts the great power He
possesses in giving and depriving power, in honoring and humiliating whom He
pleases:
It never really occurred to us, the president of the superpower was thrown
twice by a journalist who was attending his press conference. More surprising
because this event was hailed millions of people everywhere. The reporter is
considered a hero, while many people offer billions of dollars for the shoe. In
Iraq, many parents want to marry their daughters to Muntadar Al-Zaidi, the
reporter. In fact, this shoe throwing monument was built in the country one
thousand and one tonight. Although Bush had joked by mentioning the number of
shoes directed to him, no doubt this event is a nightmare or a nightmare in the
history of his presidency.
Life is only once and very short. Every step and the decisions we take in
our lives will be a record for our families, people, nations, even the world,
depending on who we are and what our mission is. In one of his hadiths, the
Apostle once reminded us that we are all leaders, and one day we will all be
held accountable for what we lead.
It is unfortunate that what Bush left behind is so uncomfortable. The Iraq
and Afghanistan wars with a million sad stories will somehow end. He is also
considered the cause of the worst economic crisis in the United States as a
result also hit the whole world. In fact, Israel's assault into Gaza that
killed more than 1300 people mostly women and children and wounded more than
5,000 others, destroyed thousands of homes and various infrastructure,
suspected of being exploited by Israel in the last days of the Bush
administration before leaving the White House. So we are not surprised when
then he was crowned as the most unpopular president throughout the course of
American history. Is this what is called Su'ul khotimah ..........?
